"Software Sundown - A Side" entered the production in January of 2021, when I wrote the first and the last track on the album. The original vision was making a sample-based album, similar to Eccojams or Floral Shoppe, but as I was listening to Beggoten's album Lifecycle at the time, I wanted to implement a part of that album too. I made countless attempts at writing more songs, but it just couldn't be done, it felt soulless to me. I also made a lot of Vaporwave art at that time, in hopes to use some for the album. I still have the sketchbook with drawings of potential album covers somewhere.
Whilst writing the album, the biggest inspiration, although subtle, was my hometown in the summer. I'd go out with my friends, come home late at night still in the vibe and then produce the tracks. I think the second track encapsulates a lot of that vibe I was in at the time. The album cover went through several revisions too. In the first revision, there was a plant in the middle, but it looked corny as hell so I scrapped it. Then I played around with filters, and came up with the final result.
I was about to give up, when I saw that GULF SPA was accepting submissions. I went and gave it my last shot, hoping would catch on. Luckily, it did, and that's pretty much where we are today. If it wasn't for this label, this would be probably my last attempt at making Vaporwave music, maybe even my last attempt at making music to begin with. It was so great to hear other people that aren't your friends say that they like the album, and I hope other people like it too when it releases in a few days.
Final Thoughts - The biggest inspirations are always subtle. Sometimes you can try to copy the others like I did in the start and you might end up with something you don't like, or just a soulless copy of that. I just did my own thing, being subtly influenced by my hometown, friends, and other media I was consuming at the time, and somehow it all worked out."

Waves of the deepest slosh, embracing your body & mind. I can picture the scene just as the beautiful artwork suggests - staring out from a balcony at night, at the dancing neon lights of a city alive with life - people fast asleep or staring right back at you from their own balcony. The last track is a perfect looping sonnet for lucid dreaming. dj_horsepower

the Hosannah one is the only song I've heard that reminded me of the Belgian new beat song "The Dream" by Acts of Madmen which is cool because I really love that song. But it's like that on lean or something. It's awesome I'm happy I got this melton
